The driving bit also called liverpool has 2 or 3 reins slots. This jawpiece is used specifically for driving and harnessing. This jawpiece allows the driver to adjust the leverage from none to heavy. The lower the reins are placed the sharper the bit. The jawpiece with two reins slots therefore has a milder leverage than the 3 lock driving bit.

Sweet Iron develops surface rust through contact with (air) moisture that tastes sweet and naturally stimulates the horse's salivation. This will cause the horse to foam more, which improves acceptance of the bit. This rusting process (oxidation) changes the blue color of TRUST bits to brownish gray.
